With Veterans Day quickly approaching, we set out to find ways that anyone can say ” thank you for your service” to the men and women who serve and have served our country so that we can live in freedom. Here are 3 ways that we found that anyone can do that require not more than a few moments of your time and the right information.
Of course, the easiest thing you can do is to think about who you know who served or is currently serving in the armed forces and simply call them or send them a card with THANK YOU to remind them that you appreciate their sacrifice. Free ecards for Veteran’s Day are available at http://action.uso.org/action/sem-thank-you?sc=OM-google-p_Support-search_ThankYouEmail. If you are not from a military family, you may not know how important it is to know that all the missed children’s birthday parties, wedding anniversaries, and the sacrifice of sharing the thousands of other missed daily events in the life of a family are appreciated. Of course there are so many of our veterans who sacrificed this and so much more.
The second way you can show your thanks this Veteran’s Day is to email a veteran with a message of thanks. Email messages can be sent to the troops by going to this site http://action.uso.org/action/sem-thank-you?sc=OM-google-p_Support-search_ThankYouEmail.
The third way is specifically to honor Veteran’s who live in Poway. The Poway Patch is asking for names, photos and stories to include in a nationwide story. For information on how to submit a veteran for inclusion go to http://poway.patch.com/articles/help-pay-tribute-to-those-who-served-2 .
Veteran’s Day is Nov. 11th.
As always, keeping you posted about what is happening in the neighborhood.
